BestSensei.com is a website for
anyone who teaches a language in Japan. Most of
the teachers registered with us teach English but you
can teach any language you want.
Are you looking for private
students in Japan? Hundreds of them check
teachers' profiles on our website. You can easily
create your own and wait for students from your area to
contact you. Please follow the link below
to create your own profile. It shouldn't take
longer than 15 minutes and many fields are optional.
The registration is completely free for teachers.
We never charge you anything. We only charge
students a small one-time-only fee of 1800 yen for
obtaining contact information of up to 10 teachers
(phone number, email address, webpage URL). After
introductions, student pay directly to teachers without

We are a site which specializes in
introducing teachers
to students who want to study a foreign language in
Japan. For many people in Japan studying a foreign
language in a school is too expensive or inconvenient.
Many such people come to our site to find a teacher who
can teach them privately at their chosen location and
time. |

How much information
do I have to fill out?
|
|
| |
To create your profile
you have to fill out few registration forms about your
teaching. The forms contain many fields, you don't
have to fill out all of them but we recommend to fill
out as much as possible. The students will read
your profile and decide if they want to contact you.
They want to know about you as much as possible before
deciding if they want to meet. The most important
information for students is your teaching locations,
times available, price and nationality. Also
profiles containing photos are searched the most, so
don't be shy and attach your photo for maximum exposure.

| |
How does it work?
|
|
| |
First you create a
profile which includes information about the language
you teach, your fees, locations and other relevant
information. You can also display your picture and
write a personal message to a potential student.
Students search our database and view teacher's
profiles. Your information will be displayed in
Japanese to make browsing easier for the student.
If a student becomes interested in you, she or he will then contact
you.

| |
Where and how do I teach? |
|
| |
You can teach a student wherever you both
decide. This could be a coffee shop next to a train station, your or the student's
house, workplace or any other place that suits the both
of you. Essentially it is your responsibility to
come up with lesson plans that suit
student's needs.
|
|
| |
How much does it cost? |
|
| |
We don't charge
teachers anything to post their profiles. You can
post it completely for free. We charge a student
a one time only fee for the teachers' contact
information. After the student contacts a teacher
and they decide to study together, we no longer
become involved. |

What makes this site better from others? |
|
| |
There are few
sites that perform similar service to us, however we
think we provide much better service for the following
reasons.
1. No ongoing fees after introduction. Some other
teacher/student introduction websites try to act as
intermediaries between them. They make contracts
with the teachers and students then they
pay teachers low wages but charge students huge fees. We think of it as simply a
rip off and don't do any of that.
2. We list
teachers according to popularity. Other teacher/student introduction
sites list most recently logged in teachers first.
But obviously that has nothing to do with teacher's
skills. We list teachers according to factors such
as number of times profile has been viewed or contact
info has been requested by students. Also the
overwhelming majority of students prefers to check
profiles with pictures, so we list those first.
3. Small teacher database. We are a
relatively new site and unlike other similar sites we do
not have thousands of teachers in our
database. If you have some experience in
looking for private students in Japan you will know
that the best place to find them is where there are not
many foreigners. On the other hand, unlike other
sites, we heavily advertise to the potential students.
We advertise on the internet, in the printed media and
in other ways. This draws many potential students
to our site.

| |
What do we ask of you? |
|
| |
You have to
reside in Japan to create a profile on our site unless
you teach online. If you do not reside in Japan
and teach only online, please clearly state that in your
message to students.
You should speak the language you want to teach at the
native or fluent level. Also, please keep your
contact information updated. And don't forget to
have fun while you are here!
